Community guidelines

We’ve created these guidelines for your reference, so you can enjoy Ready for Ten without inadvertently breaking the law.

If you post a comment it must comply with these guidelines. If your comment doesn’t comply with these guidelines or any of the Ready for Ten Guidelines it will be removed from the site.

 

Registration

Not all areas of the site require you to register. You will be prompted to sign up when you attempt to comment or upload an image or video if sign up is required. Please follow the onscreen instructions to complete your registration.

 

Moderators and staff members

We moderate the site using a third party provider. If they find something that breaks the Community Guidelines, you’re comment(s) will be removed and Britvic will not be liable in any way for this.

In addition to moderators you may see an official contributor — they may be a member of Britvic Staff or an individual paid to create content. Their username will announce their position.

We reserve the right to remove any comment we feel necessary in order to maintain a pleasant and constructive community tone.

 

Commenting on Ready for Ten — what to do

Be relevant: Make sure your comment is relevant to the content in question. Off-topic comments will be removed, unless posted in a designated off-topic area.

Enjoy it: Ready for Ten is a fun, lighthearted site. If you find yourself getting wound up or stressed out, take a break for a bit and come back refreshed and eager to throw your wit at us once more.
Empathise: Be patient with other users. Even if someone posts in a way that annoys you (in txt spk for example), stay polite in any response.

Follow moderators’ lead: If you post a comment and it is deleted by our moderators, please do not re-post it.

 

Commenting on Ready for Ten — what NOT to do

Please do not engage in any of the following behaviours. Breaking these rules may result in your account being suspended for a period of time as determined by us, or removed altogether.

Use bad language: No swearing of any kind is allowed (even with ***s!).

Post offensive content: Don’t post in a manner likely to offend users, disrupt the community or just, in general, come across as mean.

Steal: Don’t copy and paste large chunks from other sites; similarly, please don’t include copyrighted material in your posts.

Pose a virus risk: Don’t link to any kind of media or executable file directly. If you suspect someone has attempted to post one, DO NOT open it. Please note we are not responsible for third party sites.

Bicker: Don’t get into personal arguments with other users. We do not allow the abuse of other commenters.

Act unsafely: Don’t give out any personal information about yourself or anyone else, especially contact information.

Spam: Don’t try to promote your website or any business on Ready for Ten.

Post in other languages: Ready for Ten is an English-language site. Any posts in other languages may be removed.

 

Linking policy

Ready for Ten brings together the best of the web for parents of 6-9 year olds. If you have a link to some quality content for other parents, we invite you to share it. You can link to any website so long as it’s not:

  • Commercially motivated
  • Considered spam or off-topic
  • A link to content that breaches copyright
  • A direct link to a media or executable file, e.g. wmv, mp4, mov, mp3, pdf
  • A link to obscene or unlawful content

 

Legal issues

Illegal posts: Pleas do not include anything that is obscene, indecent, harassing, threatening or offensive; anything that that promotes cruelty, violence, vandalism, fraudulent or criminal acts; anything that could encourage others to commit illegal acts or acts that could cause physical harm if replicated.

Lies and court cases: Comments made in the moment can come back to do real damage. Please do not say untrue things about people or companies as this may be defamatory. Also, please do not mention any court cases or arrests as this may constitute a contempt of court.

Confidentiality: Please be aware that copying any email that has been sent to you by an individual or company may break the confidentially terms between you and the sender (these terms can be found in the footer of the email). These posts will be removed.
